Levels of Assistance for ATA Graduates

You have several channels for getting help, ranging from immediate, individual guidance to slower, group-based input. The five levels below move generally from the most immediate to the most deliberative and collective.

1. Coach

1:1, immediate (24/7 on-demand) consultation through the Coach function.

2. Material Review & Reflection

Before or after consulting the Coach, you can turn to the platform’s assets to deepen your understanding of a question or challenging situation. One or more of the platform features (Readings, Glossary, Compendium, Nuggets, Engagement Notes, Wake-Up Call, or My Journey) can be accessed to help you better understand or identify how to address the issue at hand.

3. Peer Reflections

Working as a HITA means you’re often dealing with situations that don’t have clear-cut answers and call for the perspective of others who may see things you haven’t considered. Even after interacting with the platform’s Coach function, there may be aspects of a question or circumstance that remain unresolved for you — and that would benefit from being explored with other practitioners using the platform. Peer Reflections is where you ask other practitioners who are also using the platform to weigh in on how they would approach a particular unresolved issue or difficult situation. In this way, you can draw on the aggregate experience of others who may have faced similar dynamics.

4. Daryl's Office Hours

When some or all of the above (dialoguing with the Coach, reviewing platform material, seeking peer reflections, or engaging with the HITA Collective) haven't produced a viable path forward and the stakes are high, you can schedule one-on-one time directly with Daryl. Office Hours are for complex, HITA-oriented challenges where resolution hinges on one or more HITA concepts (for example, contracting, sovereignty, or vendor-partner relationships). Sessions are intense, intimate, and practical, designed to cut to the chase and identify steps for getting unstuck. Most situations are resolved in one or two 60-minute sessions. This option requires scheduling and carries a fee, so it's best reserved for situations that warrant it.

5. HITA Collective

The platform Coach offers immediate guidance consistent with HITA canon. Your own review and reflection lets you work through a question at your own pace using established HITA resources. Peer Reflections gives you relatively quick access to viewpoints from other ATA graduates leveraging the platform. If your question or situation calls for deeper exploration, you can suggest it as a topic for an upcoming HITA Collective meeting. This option takes longer to yield input, but in exchange you get perspective from a wider group of ATA graduates, shaped by more extended discussion and reflection.
